9th of March!

9/3/15 - Rotary Meeting Townsville

65 people attended the event this evening - held in beautiful outdoors, as the sun set, we all gathered around the Rotary canteen in the grounds of the Townsville Showground.

7 Rotary clubs of the Townsville region  - from the youngest established club (the Saints) to the oldest (Townsville), were in attendance. Port of Townsville, Thuringowa, Sunrise, Daybreak and Ross River were all well represented.

We must thank president Bruce and his wonderful daughter Caitlin in particular. Without this pair RRAAAM would never have been started.

The PROJECT BOOYAH kids were toiling away energetically behind the scenes, preparing delicious hamburgers, so since one of these fresh faced young girls cheekily asked for one of my Mum's hand knitted poppies as I was ordering a refreshment, I gave them each a poppy in appreciation of their time and effort (SEE PHOTOs).

Steve and Grahme were called upon to present their "dog and pony" show - and they obliged - with much humour and warmth.

A specially decorated cake (SEE PHOTO) was cut (and consumed) in celebration of this evening's event.

$3, 250 was donated on this grand night.

On behalf of Steve, Grahme and all the RRAAAM team - thank you Townsville for your participation and support for our cause. We now feel that our cause, so close to our hearts, is shared in your hearts also. Thank you.
